Dog Sees God
is a coming-of-age dramedy with a cosmic edge. When a meteor lands in his backyard—killing his beloved dog—suburban misfit Atticus channels his grief into his struggling garage-punk band. As he wrestles with teenage angst, fractured family dynamics, and a growing government presence in his neighborhood, he starts to realize that in an unfair world, relationships are what truly matter.

Logline:
When Atticus’ beloved dog gets struck by a meteorite all while scrambling to finish a rock/punk song with his best friend, Atticus plunges into his first existential crisis. As the chaos of family life and scientific discovery swirls around him, will Atticus learn that love, loss, and finding freedom in his music are all part of growing up?
Chaos
takes over Atticus's life as firemen, policemen, and scientists invade his life to study the mysterious rock.
Dog Sees God needs your support to bring as much chaos to young musician's life as possible. It takes $200 to add one curious professional to the scene. We believe the story needs at least 10.

Director's Statement
Dog Sees God is a wild, heartwarming film where rock music isn’t just a backdrop—it’s a character. We’re diving into existential crises through a lens that’s anything but conventional: humor and music. In the last few years, we’ve survived pandemics, wars, wildfires, and the looming threat of AI. In a world where justice and logic seem so distant, how do we make sense of it all?

We believe the answer is simple—human connection. It’s about finding someone to care for. It’s about protesting, not with destruction, but outrageous creativity. When we start truly connecting with others, we realize we’re not alone—no matter how big the meteorite in our backyard may seem.

Tone
is darkly comedic with elements of absurdity, yet tinged with melancholy and emotional depth. It balances youthful angst and rebellion with the weight of grief and family struggles. The film presents a raw and honest exploration of relationships set against the backdrop of extraordinary events like a meteorite crash.

Atticus
A thirteen-year-old with a sharp tongue and a heart that beats in distortion pedal rhythms. He feels things deeply but masks his emotions behind sarcasm and self-imposed outsider status. The loss of his dog—the companion he used to disregard—leaves him emotionally stranded, and he channels that pain into music. He views authority with mistrust, making him resistant to any form of control, especially from his mom Sharon.

Sharon
loves Atticus deeply, but he doesn’t see it—because she loves through actions, not words. She works tirelessly to keep their world intact, even with a meteorite in the backyard.

Cole
Cole is Atticus’s best friend and bandmate. He’s less intense about their music but enjoys goofing around. Cole tries to keep up with Atticus’s ambition, often feeling sidelined.

Ava
A hyperactive young girl, Ava is full of energy and conviction, especially when it comes to planning Jax's funeral.

Jax
A dog with an insatiable need for attention. His presence is chaotic yet lovable, making his sudden absence unfortunate.

Jerry
An annoyingly sweet Sharon's new boyfriend, Jerry tries to be a steady presence in the household. He leans on faith and structure to navigate difficult moments.
